Salsa Winter Camp

Salsa Winter Camp 2018

Intensive salsa course in the winter vacation (2018) at Langebæk Kursus and Retreat Center near the ocean

It is the 12th time we host the salsa camp this year. If you like Salsa and Cuban rhythms, this is where it happens!

Come and learn to dance, or get a lot of new inspiration, if you already dance.

Salsa has come to stay, and when you first have tried it, you will get caught. Everyone can participate, both singles and couples. We have classes for totally beginners, intermediate, and for advanced.

We are used to make the salsa camp in the summer, and this year we have with great success been at Langebæk Kursus and Retreat Center, instead of at Rødkilde TeaterHøjskole, where we usually are. As they are renovating. Langebæk Kursus og Retreat Center is a very beautiful place in South Sealand. Read more about the place at www.kursusogretreat.dk.

Week 7: Monday the 12th - Sunday the 18th of February (for intermediate and advanced)

If you have any doubts about your dance level, see our guide under dance descriptions.

Accomodation

There will be space for around 40 sleeping participants every week. 30 in the house at double rooms or triple rooms, 2 single rooms, and when we are full at Langebæk, there are possibility to live in rooms in the manor, which is a 2 minutes walk away.

We, as always, make the team divisions, at different levels. The teaching will take place in two dance halls. It is also possible to attend the course and be day/evening participant and join all activities, without staying at Langebæk. There are hotels and guesthouses in the area, in the local city Kalvehave, and in Stege and Vordingborg.

We finish the last day with a big party arrangement. See the program for the whole week right below.

Every year we have 30% couples and 70% singles from all over the country, and the rest of Scandinavia, and a few from the rest of Europa, that participates in our fantastic salsa camp.

We have 4 ½ hours daily classes, splitted in two times a day

The classes

The first everyone gets split up in two groups, after level.

Are very intensive, with max. 15-20 participants at each team. This makes it possible for the teacher to focus on every participant, and have time to help all the participants.
You will on the course besides Salsa, also dance some: Reggaeton, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Son and Rumba. These dances will only be danced in the afternoon. Before that, there will only be teached in Salsa.

You don’t have to have a dance partner to participate, but it is always a good idea to try to find a friend, that will join. If you go to dance classes, you can ask one from your dancing team, if the Salsa Camp could be something for them. You shift dancing partners all the time, on every team, so everyone will get danced with a lot of different people.

To you, who have never tried to dance Salsa before, we can say, that everyone who went to the Salsa Camp last year, have learned to dance when the camp was over. To all your, who already dance, we always have some new to bring to the table. The classed are very inspiring, and fun to do.

The teachers in the camp are: Yorgenis Danger Garcia, Demis González Miranda and more.
