Cuban Salsa Camp

If you like Salsa, Son, Bachata, Rumba, Afro and Cuban rhythms, this is where it happens! Come and get a lot of inspiration at Bosei Idrætshøjskole on your summer holiday by Præstø, South Zealand, in Denmark. We have held the Salsa Summer Camp since 2004, and have classes for all levels. Everyone can participate, singles and couples.
Join us for an experience for life, meet new people, and learn a lot of dance. When you have first tried our camp, we guarantee that you will get hooked :-)
At our Camp in week 30, there will be 6 different levels: Improver, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Advanced 1, Advanced 2 and Very advanced. And in the afternoon, we will also have master classes.
In the afternoon we will have more levels also master class workshops. And this year we will again have extra classes and workshops on top of the normal program, with Afro Cuban Dance and Rumba.
There are 3 hours of daily classes in the morning and 2-4 hours of workshops in the afternoon, with breaks 2-3 times a day. The only classes you need to attend, is the ones in the morning from 9:45-13:00. The rest of the program and the workshops in the afternoon from 14:00-18:00 are optional. If you only like to take afrocuban ans rumba classes in the afternoon you do not need to take part of the moning Salsa classes. All the classes and levels will take part in different dance rooms.

The classes
The classes are very intensive. Besides Salsa in the morning, we also offer a lot of Reggaetón, Bachata, Son, Afro-Cuban dance and Rumba, which can be chosen in the afternoon, if you have energy for more dancing.

You can register for the Camp without a sign-up partner or with a sign-up partner
If you want to obtain a discount, then you need to find a sign-up partner of the opposite sex. You can try to find a friend or someone from your network who would like to participate (the person does not need to be on the same dance level as you or someone you live with, and you sign up individually). The discount will be refunded to your card shortly before the course starts. The sign-up partner needs to sign up at the latest 48 hours after you have signed up in order for both of you to get the discount.
We always strive to get the amount of men and women to be equal, and it usually ends up fitting well. If you already dance, you can ask one from your dance class or your network, if the Salsa Summer Camp could be something for them.
To all of you that already dances a lot, our fantastic teachers always have new moves and techniques to offer. The classes are very inspiring, fun and educational.
NEW OPTION: We have expanded the program with 4 hours daily classes and workshops of Afro Cuban Dance & Rumba.
You can sign up for this part only, without participating in the morning Salsa classes, if you do not like to dance Salsa. The Salsa participants people, can still take part I the Afro Cuban & Rumba classes and workshops in the afternoon.You need to answer in the sign up form if you are ONLY going to participate in Afro Cuban Dance & Rumba classes between 14.00 and 18.00.

Accommodation & facilities at Bosei
The Salsa Camp will be held one hour drive from Copenhagen, at the beautiful Idrætshøjskolen Bosei, Evensølundvej 5, 4720 Præstø
We found this fantastic high school, with great surroundings and with the most beautiful facilities. Last year was our first year here and all the students were super happy with the place!
We have previously held the camp at Møn Friskole, Rødkilde Theather High School, and a single year at Langebæk Course and Retreat Center - so we have been around a lot. But this new place is definitely the best place to date.
Facilities at Bosei
The main building was originally a sanatorium, and since they have expanded with Japanese-inspired buildings.
There is a swimming hall, workout center, several activities- and sports rooms, and a fantastic natural environment. There is also a Japanese library, creative workshop, music room and much more. Around the buildings, there is woods, a soccer field, tennis courts and more. It is not far away from the ocean, so it is possible to also take a beach trip.
As a participant, you can make use of all the facilities without extra charge.

Rooms
There is room for 200 participants that stay at Bosei. There are 90 double rooms, together with 20 tent spots (not big family tents, or caravans).
Every year we have 30% couples and 70% singles from all over the country, and the rest of Scandinavia, and a few from the rest of Europa, that participate in our fantastic salsa camp.
The rooms are with seperate beds and there shared personal shower rooms and toilets at the end of the hallway.

Arrival on Sunday

20:30 - 21:00: Information meeting in the big sports hall
21:00 - 24:00: Salsa dancing
Classes from Monday to Friday
*Monday afternoon there is the opportunity to buy dance shoes*
In the evening there is more dance, where we make the sports hall, into a Salsa Discotek, so everyone can train what they have learned during the day and have fun together. We have a nice, cheap bar.

14:00-16:00 Workshops: Choose between Afro Cuban classes and Rumba classes with live music
16:00 - 18:00: Workshops: Choose between Son, Salsa Men/Lady Styling, Bachata, Reggaetón, Rumba, Afro Cuban dance with live music
18:10 - 19:10: The swimming pool is open
18:10 - 19:10: The bar is open
19:30 - 20:30: Dinner
20:30-21:30: Several lectures, in Cuban dances and music, and culture
21:00 - 01:00: Evening Salsa disco (party night Friday to 03:00)
There is a long break in the middle of the day (Monday-Friday), so you have time to relax, go to the beach, enjoy a walk in the city, or get a lovely message from our fantastic masseuse.

We end the last day with a big party with live music. Program and links for registration will come up later.
This events is open for everyone. They are included in the price for the Camp participants.

Guests that do not participate in the camp, can book a ticket with or without accommodation. We recommend purchasing your ticket well in advance. There is a limited amount of tickets and it's first come first serve.
